Editorial Review
If it weren't for the five kilometre radius check at the front entrance, the Paddington Bowling Club is barely discernible as a registered club. Filled with the trendy local crowd of this groovy suburb, the PBC wouldn't survive if it weren't decked out in style. The bar is lit up with a backdrop of orange, and a navy velvet banquette runs the length of one side of the venue which is otherwise filled with dark wood chairs and tables. However, there is also definitely something alluring about the green of the lawns beyond the windows, but you've got to be quick if you want to snare one of the outdoor tables with a view of the bowling action. Further afield, umbrellas shade a few plastic tables and chairs.
The bistro serves up everything from your hearty burger with crispy fries to delightfully light salads for those hotter days. Seafood dishes include octopus salad, salt and pepper squid, and the never fail fish 'n' chips. The function room can cater for all sorts of occasions and menus that can be tailor-made to suit your needs. Whether a three-course meal is on the cards or simply some delicious sharing canapes, the kitchen team are more than capable of providing a tasty spread. With a plate of restaurant quality food and an icy lager at your elbow, all you need to complete the day is a healthy bit of competition. So eat up, and hit the grass.
